What do you use amino acids for and what are the benefits? In short, amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. Your body breaks down proteins into amino acids. A quarter of these are burned as energy or you pee out. The rest is used to produce the body's own proteins. In contrast to proteins, amino acids are absorbed very quickly by the body. Therefore, do not only use these products just before or after your cardio workout, run or cycling training, but also around moments of strength training. Proteins consist of 20 different types of amino acids, 12 non-essential amino acids are produced by your body itself. The other 8 essential amino acids are not produced by your body and must therefore be obtained from your diet and supplements.
